In November 1963, the same day when President John F. Kennedy was shot dead, no other leader also died, namely Clive Staples Lewis. Oxford graduate scholars who have turned away from atheism and later became a Christian this is a very prolific writer. From his pen scratches, born intellectual works, science fiction, children's tales, and other writings were thick with the values of the Christian faith. Books by CS Lewis has been used by God to bring many people to repentance, including a politician and a Nobel Prize-winning scientist.
There are some people who feel called to preach about Christ to others through their writings, but all believers are called to be a "letter of Christ" through the way we live. The Apostle Paul said, "Because it has turned out, that you are a letter of Christ,. . . written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God "(2 Cor. 3: 3).
Of course, Paul did not mean to say that we truly become a piece of paper with the message of God. But as "letters" living, we can deliver a message about the impact that Jesus Christ in our treatment of each other and our struggle to live honestly.
Perhaps only a few people who can give such effect has been given by CS Lewis. But we are all called to glorify Jesus, the One who loves us and has redeemed us from the bondage of sin!
O Lord, You have called me into your witness wherever you put me. Every day of my life seen a fellow. Help me to live a life that encourages others want to know You and affluent life that you have to offer.
