Let the great world spin | NetJane's blog
Every day life we come in contact with how many other lives. 1, 10, a thousand? Where does the markings that leaves us in the lives of others? Like throwing a stone in a pond. The rippels rippels touch rippels. Sometimes the effect is as simple as two lives that brushed past each other, sometimes there is a conflict and sometimes are not even aware of the other life in their orbit. 6 Degrees of separation, collateral damage.
Columbus McCann writes beautifully about this phenomenon in his book: "Let the great world spin". The story is set in New York, with the golden thread of Philippe Petit's daring sky walk between the twin towers of the World Trade Center in 1974 that runs through the book. The book is based on other books I have read suggested to me by Amazon and I could not put the book down. The stories interwoven seamlessly, New York city perfectly portrayed and human emotion in the book is real and the author gives each character a vulnerability that touches your heart. sing in In the confluence of life you also wonder if life completely "random" and that things just happen and things / people for a reason in your life.
One of the finest minds in the book was also for me a character about her relationship with her parents and she admits that she has been telling the truth for them (yes it is good, I go out to dinner on Tuesday, it rains here, my car needs new tires) but none of the honesty they deserve. I live very so. Do not want to admit that I have a weakness or not able to do anything or to handle a situation. Too proud to ask for help. Too scared to make a nuisance of myself. Do not want people to worry about me. So I give the truth, but not the honesty.
I's not that I have for the past two weeks clockwork at 5 o'clock every afternoon started crying for no good reason. I say that I am terribly afraid that I do something is not right with the baby. I say that it breaks my heart that Honey's birthday is tomorrow, but I do not have a gift for him. I say that my heart so swell, I just (joy) cry, because I know he does not care and just worry about me and Arjun himself.
"For this is what we do. Put one foot forward and then the other. Lift our eyes to the snarl and smile of the world once more. Think. Act. Feel. Add our little consequence to the In Tides of good and evil that flood and drain the world. Drag our shadowed crosses into the hope of another night. Push our brave hearts into the promise sing in of a new day. With love: the passionate search for a truth other than our own. With longing: the pure, ineffable yearning to be saved. For so long as fate keeps waiting, we live on. God help us. God Forgive us. We live on ".

Yep, there is always a new day. There is still hope, there is always love. Life goes on with or without you. We have the choice to put aside in a corner and get lost, or to jump on your surfboard and surf life.
Well thank you, yesterday I could barely lift my head so depro I felt today is all better, and nothing has changed. Life is so complex and so simple, I sometimes do not know which of the two.
Thanks for sharing. Awesome quote that. My father recommended the book to me and this quote his favorite out: My heart moved through deep and silent water. No-one and nothing could really hurt me. No one, and nothing could make me very happy. I was tough, Which Probably the saddest thing you can say about a man. Myself how much inspiration from that book got to work in ordinary lyrics.
